- Product Specifications
Plaasdam pools are supplied with either 4 × 0.8mm panels, 4 × 0.64mm panels, or 8 × 0.8mm galvanized or Zincalume steel panels, pre-drilled for assembly bolts. Each unit includes a Micron 600 liner, and a single flange unless otherwise specified in the quotation.
All galvanized and Zincalume products may develop surface rust, weathering, or colour changes over time due to environmental exposure. This is considered normal wear and does not constitute a product defect.
Any custom products will be manufactured strictly in accordance with the specifications set out in the approved quotation. Refer to clause 12.
The Hot Tub Fire Donkey is supplied fully assembled; however, the donkey heating component requires assembly. The tub must be placed on a completely level surface, preferably on soil. Placement on bricks, paving, or uneven surfaces is not recommended and may result in damage, for which Plaasdam Swembad (Pty) Ltd accepts no responsibility.
The Fire Hydrant Water Feature is supplied as a DIY kit including a galvanized hydrant, heavy-duty PVC pole, bush and reducer fittings, 90° heavy-duty plastic spout, and spray paint for finishing. Assembly of the water feature is the responsibility of the client unless installation has been specifically included in the quotation.
- Delivery
Delivery fees are calculated based on distance, location, and accessibility. Deliveries outside of Gauteng or to remote areas may incur additional transport charges.
Delivery timelines are estimates and may vary depending on logistics and scheduling. Risk in the goods passes to the client upon delivery or collection.
- Installation
The installation site must be cleared of grass, debris, and properly levelled prior to the installation date. Ground preparation is not included unless specifically quoted and paid for.
If the installation team is required to perform levelling, compaction, site clearing, or other ground preparation on the day of installation, an additional labour and consumables fee of no less than R3,500 will apply.
Installation includes:
- Full assembly of the Plaasdam
- Installation of the fire hydrant water feature (if included)
- Pump installation within four (4) meters of the Plaasdam
- Plumbing neatly trenched underground
- Final testing and installation sign-off
Installation excludes electrical work, rubble removal, landscaping, or paving unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Additional charges may apply where site conditions differ from those agreed during quotation.
- Electrical & Plumbing
The homeowner must provide a suitable electrical power point for the pump.
Plaasdam Swembad (Pty) Ltd does not perform electrical installations, issue Certificates of Compliance (COCs), or take responsibility for any third-party electrical work.
Plumbing will be installed strictly in accordance with the approved job specification.
- Client Responsibilities
The client or an authorised representative must be present on the day of installation to provide property access, confirm the final water level, provide electrical access, and sign off on the completed installation.
Failure to do so may result in installation delays or additional call-out charges.
- Fees & Payment Terms
All quotations are subject to confirmation following a site inspection where applicable.
A 70% deposit is required upon acceptance of the quotation to secure manufacturing and installation scheduling. The remaining balance must be paid in full prior to delivery or installation.
Installation dates will only be confirmed once the deposit has been received and cleared.
Additional charges may apply if site conditions differ from those described at the time of quotation.
- Lead Times
Standard manufacturing lead time is approximately ten (10) working days from receipt of the deposit.
Custom orders or high demand periods may result in extended lead times.
- Weather Delays
Installation and delivery may be delayed due to adverse weather conditions including heavy rain, flooding, or unsafe working environments.
Plaasdam Swembad (Pty) Ltd shall not be liable for delays caused by weather conditions and installations will be rescheduled accordingly.
- Water Loss, Liner Damage & Maintenance
The client is responsible for ongoing care and maintenance of the Plaasdam and its components.
Plaasdam Swembad (Pty) Ltd shall not be liable for water loss due to evaporation, leaks, ground movement, or external factors. Damage caused by sharp objects, pets, stones, foreign materials, improper maintenance, or incorrect chemical use will not be covered.
- Cancellations & Order Changes
Once manufacturing of a Plaasdam or custom components has commenced, orders may not be cancelled.
If a client cancels an order after payment but before manufacturing begins, Plaasdam Swembad (Pty) Ltd reserves the right to retain a reasonable administration fee.
Custom-built products are non-refundable once production has started.
- Limitation of Liability
Plaasdam Swembad (Pty) Ltd shall not be liable for damage or performance issues resulting from uneven ground, unstable soil conditions, incorrect installation surfaces, third-party electrical installations, misuse, neglect, DIY modifications, or environmental factors.
Normal wear and tear including rusting, fading, weathering, and ageing of materials does not constitute a defect.
- Errors and Omissions (E&OE)
While every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of quotations, specifications, and pricing, Plaasdam Swembad (Pty) Ltd shall not be held liable for any errors or omissions.
Plaasdam Swembad (Pty) Ltd reserves the right to correct any such errors without prior notice.

- Installation Approval & Sign-Off
Upon completion of installation, the client or authorised representative shall inspect the Plaasdam and confirm that the installation has been completed in accordance with the agreed specifications.
Once the installation has been signed off, the work shall be deemed complete and satisfactory. Plaasdam Swembad (Pty) Ltd shall not be liable for concerns relating to positioning, water level, or visible installation elements that were accepted at the time of completion.
- Water Filling & Final Water Level
The client is responsible for filling the Plaasdam with water after installation unless otherwise agreed in writing.
The final water level must be confirmed by the client at the time of installation. Plaasdam Swembad (Pty) Ltd shall not be responsible for adjustments made after installation or issues arising from overfilling or underfilling.
- Ground Movement & Soil Conditions
Plaasdam Swembad (Pty) Ltd shall not be held liable for structural movement, shifting, or changes in level resulting from natural ground movement, soil settling, erosion, or changes in site conditions after installation.
Any adjustments required due to such movement shall be treated as a separate service and may be subject to additional charges.
